After some more hanging out in Buenos Aires with exceptional and lovely porteños, we ran to AEP (airport) with enough time (never too much time) so Nico & I went straight to get a new passport for me. Now, bear in mind Argentina is a land of contradictions were you can spend an hour queuing to pay utility bills OR get a passport in 30 minutes! You were wrong, Orwell; freedom is overrated!

The overwhelming financial control the government imposes on Argentinians has just a few positive side effects, like this one… And this is for you, Illinois DMV: I got it without any proof of address! ):) Now flying 3.5 hours to Ushuaia… definitely need to work on a better system to travel (at least bilocation as reported by some Christian saints).

02.11 "La Ciudad De La Furia"(Soda Stereo)

• Quality recovery sleep at last! (Thanks again Nico & July!)
• Laboratory visit (in chic & boho neighborhood of Palermo)
• Teatro Colon guided tour

After a lovely night of peaceful rest (compliments of our great hosts Nico & July who gave us their bed; extreme generosity!) came breakfast. Then we "rushed" (Argentinian way) to a quality control laboratory where Nico's dad is the director; Science is beautiful! Good memories flooded my mind from those past times at a lab… also, as in a lab, art was present across the street: look at this beautiful crochet-like work on the tree and lamppost (aka yarn bombing).

The three of us then strolled through picturesque Buenos Aires.

and visited the beautiful Teatro Colon 

(still can't believe the opening scene of Highlander II was filmed there… if you ever wonder how to destroy a movie with a sequel, watch both).

Immediately after that a coffee with an alfajor was a must! (If you don't understand why… I can't help you with that). Then came a surprise relax therapy session at a center where Nico's mom works (Basia was in heaven!). Who knew there were elaborate massage beds? New type of full body massage experience.

Late night dinner with friends and the usual effect of a relaxed, conversational  night: a hangover was on the horizon…

02.09-10 "Long Hard Road Out Of Hell"(Marilyn Manson)

Note: Every Chapter will have the title of a song that is related to that day (sometimes just the title; sometimes the lyrics; sometimes the melody… yours to guess ;)

"Hell is Repetition" yes, indeed… after 34 hours of following the same cycle  on ORD-JFK-LIM-SCL-AEP (go through "security," wait, sometimes wait more, get onto the plane, try to "rest" but also move to avoid life-threatening blood coagules, get out of the plane… and repeat) we finally left behind Nordic Hel. It's on!

"El Infierno es Repetición" así es… después de 34 horas de seguir el mismo ciclo en ORD-JFK-LIM-SCL-AEP (pasar por "seguridad", esperar, a veces esperar más, subir al avión, tratar de descansar pero también moverte para evitar coagulos de sangre asesinos, bajarse del avión… y repetir) finalmente dejamos atrás el Hel nórdico! Vaaamooo'

If you're reading this, you made it! You went Through The Looking Glass an took the Red Pill: You are now in "The MadTricks", where nothing happens as planned but everything happens as it must in ways we, silly mortals, should not worry to understand. 

This is the beginning of our loop; Basia and I will start tomorrow a 4-month trip that is part honeymoon, part spiritual quest, part future life exploration, and part just take a swim into the deep ocean of uncertainty… ):) 

We hope to update entries and answer comments at least once after every spot on this journey. 

And, if you're here, it also means we love you and we wish you joined us, so feel free to meet us somewhere in cyber or real space!
