04.03 part 1:"Angkor Wat"(Yes)

Angkor Wat… Wow. There is a song inspired by this incredible place by the legendary band "Yes" (listen and watch): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dVkETlUlKTI

This temple is considered the largest in the world. But it is not only the size that is imposing: it is the design, the environment surrounding it, the "empty" spaces inside and outside… it has the essence of a masterpiece.

I was particularly impressed by the north wall of the outer gallery of the temple. There is a continuous bas-relief depicting battles.

I was drawn by some curiosities, like soldiers are shown engaged in combat but very rarely I saw severed heads…

…or even less rare stabbed bodies, and failed to see severed limbs.

As I was walking in an East-West direction, I noticed changes in the pattern of the carvings:

There definitely was a progression into more fantastic contexts, with the appearance of mythological figures including monsters and Gods! I just wanted to stay there all day longs watching… but we had to keep running ):)
